What is Shamanism ?

 


According to Wikipedia Shamanism is a religious ceremonial practice and it is related to Indigenous and tribal communities and includes belief which shamans, with an interaction with the other world , speak with spirits and accompany souls of the dead to the afterlife.

Shamanism is a Spiritual ritual practice and Historically it has been used for many centuries. It is practiced by indigenous people throughout the world, including Siberia, Africa and South America.

Shamanism is a premise that the soul of the person can separate from their body and travel to other dimensions or realities that exist beyond time, space and physical existence. The purpose of this practice is to understand yourself better and perhaps even solve problems in the real world.

A shaman is a person who acts as a medium between the human world and the spirit world. The shamans in ancient India and Nepal used singing, dancing, and sound to induce an altered state of mind that enables a person to encounter their personal gods or spirits. In these rituals there can be drumming, chanting, music, or even the use of fire to encourage trance states. Shamanism predates written history and has been practiced around the world for thousands of years by different societies under different names; for example voodoo, magic and witchcraft.
